ASHEPA Appoints Mr. Gemachis Genati Keneni as Country Representative for Ethiopia
African Safety, Health and Environment Professional Association (ASHEPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gemachis Genati Keneni as ASHEPA Country Representative for Ethiopia.
In this volunteer leadership role, Mr. Gemachis will support ASHEPA’s mission to strengthen Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) practice in Ethiopia by promoting professional engagement, strengthening collaboration with key stakeholders, and advancing workplace safety culture and standards-aligned compliance across sectors.
About Mr. Gemachis Genati Keneni
Mr. Gemachis Genati Keneni is an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional with extensive years of diverse practice across manufacturing, telecommunications, and public health including work with prominent international NGOs. This broad background has given him strong insight into sector-specific EHS challenges and the regulatory requirements that guide effective compliance and performance.
Within the manufacturing and telecommunications sectors, Mr. Gemachis has successfully applied ISO 45001 principles to develop and maintain robust occupational health and safety management systems supporting structured, measurable improvement in workplace safety performance.
Known for strong teamwork and collaboration, Mr. Gemachis excels in leading teams that foster positive safety culture through open communication, shared responsibility, and consistent engagement, helping organizations build sustainable health and safety outcomes.
