January 5, 2026 — African Safety, Health and Environment Professional Association (ASHEPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Takyi Degraft Chezrie as ASHEPA West Africa Regional Representative.

In this volunteer leadership role, Mr. Chezrie will support ASHEPA’s mission to advance stronger Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) practice across West Africa and the continent at large. He will contribute to regional engagement, professional collaboration, and the promotion of SHE awareness and good practice among institutions, practitioners, and stakeholders.

About Mr. Takyi Degraft Chezrie

Mr. Chezrie Nyarko Takyi Degraft is a Ghanaian Architect, businessman, and member of the Ghana Institute of Architects. He serves as CEO of Chevera Company Limited and is a recognized professional involved in development and safety through design.

He has recently received notable professional appointments, including serving as a Board Member of Ghana’s Architects Registration Council (ARC). In addition, he advanced his expertise through studies at GIMPA in MSc in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.

Mr. Chezrie is known for applying architecture to address societal challenges, with a particular focus on disaster prevention and resilience. He is also active in Christian business networks, contributing to professional development and values-driven leadership.

Speaking on the appointment, Wilson Ronnie Odoom, President of ASHEPA, said:
