ASHEPA Appoints Melkisidek Ewusi Yeboah as Ghana Representative

January 6, 2026 – African Safety, Health and Environment Professional Association (ASHEPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Melkisidek Ewusi Yeboah as ASHEPA  Representative for Ghana.

In this volunteer leadership role, Mr. Yeboah will support ASHEPA’s mission of strengthening Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) practice across East Africa through regional engagement, professional collaboration, and the promotion of practical sustainability and compliance-driven environmental strategies.

 

About Melkisidek Ewusi Yeboah

Mr. Yeboah is a dynamic Environmental Officer driving environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within the industrial sector. He is currently an Environmental Officer at Volta Aluminum Company Limited (VALCO), Tema, where he supports regulatory compliance, environmental audits and assessments, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of sustainability programs across operations.

In his role, he has contributed to strengthening compliance performance through consistent monitoring, reporting, and corrective action follow-up, including environmental sampling and validation, inspections of drinking water and wastewater systems, drains, dust collectors, dumpsites, and other facilities. He has also supported company-wide ISO programs and environmental sustainability initiatives such as Greenhouse Gas Quantification and Tracking and solid waste segregation programs.

Prior to this, Mr. Yeboah served as a Process Technician at VALCO, supporting process efficiency, safety compliance, quality audits, database management, and trend reporting to improve operational performance. He has also contributed to education as a Mathematics Tutor, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts—an asset for stakeholder engagement and capacity building.

Mr. Yeboah is passionate about using data-driven approaches to strengthen environmental performance and promote meaningful sustainability outcomes. He is known for process optimization, strong analytical skills, and collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Speaking on the appointment, Wilson Ronnie Odoom, President of ASHEPA, said:
