ASHEPA, the Africa Safety, Health and Environmental Professional Association, is where Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professionals belong. Our member community is built to support growth, connection and impact through professional development, valuable networking opportunities and advocacy for the profession. By bringing together members from across industries, backgrounds and generations, ASHEPA fosters collaboration, shared knowledge and lasting relationships that strengthen both individual careers and the EHS profession as a whole.
At the heart of ASHEPA is a commitment to sharing knowledge. We provide enriching learning opportunities through Community publications, webinars, online courses, conferences, micro-certificate programs and certification exam preparation courses.
ASHEPA connects Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental (OSHE) professionals with organizations seeking qualified expertise. Through events, conferences, practice specialty groups, and common-interest communities, members gain valuable opportunities to build professional relationships and advance their careers. The ASHEPA Job Board further supports this mission as a dedicated online OSHE career center, where employers can advertise vacancies and members can access relevant career opportunities.

As an association representing members across Africa and the diaspora, our collective voice is instrumental in fostering safer workplaces and a more sustainable environment.
ASHEPA is committed to supporting the next generation of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental professionals by providing student members with access to a broad range of academic, professional, and career development resources. From educational content and expert-led webinars to scholarship opportunities, mentorship, and professional networking, ASHEPA equips students with the tools they need to grow and succeed. Student members also gain access to job search resources that connect them with internships, early-career opportunities, and pathways for long-term professional advancement.
Each year, we present awards to outstanding volunteers and members who have made significant contributions to the Occupational Safety, health and Environmental profession and ASHEPA giving members the recognition they deserve for creating safe work environments around the world. In addition, through our media outreach, we promote ASHEPA members, as well as OSHE issues and the Occupational Safety, health and Environmental profession.

Membership fees are payable upon admission and must be renewed annually from 1 January each year, regardless of the date of joining. This means that all memberships run on a common annual renewal cycle beginning on 1 January. Members are encouraged to ensure that their subscription is paid on time to maintain active membership status and continue enjoying the benefits of Association membership.
